Cooking Camping Equipment
It is always a good idea to prepare well for any outdoor camping activities. We always seem to remember to carry a compass, a map, and even invest in a good tent. However, we seem to forget that there are no fast food restaurants in a camping area.
It is a sign of lack of proper planning when you see outdoor campers without camping cooking equipment. It can turn any camping trip in to a nightmare when you find that you cannot eat the food you have carried with you or even the food you have hunted and gathered in the wild.
Aluminium cutlery, pots and pans are probably your best bet when it comes to camping cooking equipment. They are not only cheap but have the added advantage of being easy to clean and light to carry around. A camp is not the place to show off the latest in modern cooking technology. In fact the less of these that you carry, the better off you will be.
One of the best camping cooking tools to carry with you is Aluminium foil. Aluminium foil can be put into a myriad of uses in a camp site. You can use it as plate or even a cup if you have forgotten to carry one. You can also use it to keep your food fresh such as fish you just caught. Most important, just wrap your food in the foil and grill, steam and even bake to your heart’s desire.
We have to protect our environment. We forget that we have to clean our cooking equipment after use. A washing bowl, a dish cloth and a dish scour should be in our camping list. Most important, please carry a biodegradable soap to protect the environment. If everyone carried the usual dishwashing soap on a camping trip, we could pollute all water supplies.
When choosing your camp cooking equipment never forget to consider how they will impact the environment around you. Many wild animals have been harmed by people leaving modern day equipment lying around when they leave the camping site.
